Fall semester is already stressing people out at our community of apartments near MTSU. We can feel it, and we’re here to help our residents get a break from the grind of class, homework and part time jobs.

In this week’s blog post from your MTSU apartments, we’ll be talking about some of the most highly-anticipated movies that are set to be released this fall. We’ll cover all genres of film, from thrillers and horror films to epic superhero blockbusters.

Check out the list of movies below, and be sure to share this post with anyone at University Ridge who might need to get out of the library and into a movie theatre for a few hours.

September Movie Releases

American Made

Starring: Tom Cruise, Caleb Landry Jones

You’ll remember Caleb Landry Jones as the creepy brother from the box office hit Get Out. In American Made, he stars alongside Tom Cruise. Cruise plays a pilot-turn drug runner who ends up working for the CIA. The movie is set in the 1980s, during the height of the drug crisis in America.

Starring: Ellen Page, Nina Dobrev

If you liked the 2015 film, The Lazarus Effect, you’ll love Flatliners. It’s a film about a group of med students who begin experimenting with stopping each others’ hearts for brief moments. They begin to discover that they have hidden talents, but they also uncover some not-so-appealing side effects of playing with death.

October Movie Releases

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris

This mysterious thriller is set in a quiet, fully functioning home that turns upside down when “unexpected guests” arrive. It sounds intriguing, plus it’s a chance to see the great Jennifer Lawrence on screen with some other terrific actors. Both Javier Bardem and Ed Harris can be extra creepy when they want to, which makes us think this could be one of the most suspenseful, unnerving movies of the year.

The Mountain Between Us

Starring: Idris Elba, Kate Winslet

Sign us up for any and all movies starring Idris Elba and Kate Winslet. This film is about a couple of people are involved in a plane crash on a mountain in the middle of winter. They were strangers before the crash, but now they have to work together to survive in one of the planet’s harshest environments.

November Movie Releases

A Bad Mom’s Christmas

Starring: Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell

The first Bad Moms was surprisingly funny, and Mila Kunis is always entertaining. This is basically the same film but with a Christmas theme, so we can probably expect similar jokes and a holiday-related plotline. If all you want out of your movie-going experience is a few good laughs, you’ll find that with this film.

Justice League

Starring: Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa

Lastly, we’ve come to what is easily the most highly-anticipated movie on this list. The Justice League is made up of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, The Flash and Cyborg. The cast is outstanding, and the action will surely be of the “non-stop” variety.

Those are all the movies that we’re looking forward to this fall, residents! Thanks for taking some time out of your day to check out our most recent blog post. We hope you enjoy these films, and that you’re able to use the movie theatre as an escape from the stress of college classes.
