Most residents of our apartments near MTSU are familiar with the phrase, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” That may be true on the weekdays, but we all know that brunch is the most important meal of the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

If you get a solid brunch in on Saturday, you’re set for a full weekend of fun. Eating a big brunch on Sunday is equally important, both for recovery from the previous night’s activities and for preparing yourself for a long day spent on the couch in front of your TV. All anyone wants is to be lazy on a Sunday afternoon at their MTSU apartments, and that all starts with a hearty brunch.

The best thing about brunch is that it’s a social activity. You can’t really eat brunch alone. Well, you can, but we wouldn’t refer to that as “brunch” per say. That’s more like a late breakfast that you enjoyed by yourself. Brunch is a gathering of friends. It’s a reason to get out of bed before noon. Above all else, brunch is a chance to enjoy food that simply isn’t served at other times of the day.

In this week’s blog post, we’ll break down a list of restaurants in Murfreesboro that are perfect for brunch. Each of these restaurants has their own unique take on brunch, and you can decide for yourself which type of brunch you want to enjoy. Do you want a big buffet with all the waffles, pancakes and bacon your heart desires, or do you want a simple brunch, with small, elegant, Instagrammable plates? It’s up to you, but we highly recommend that you let this blog post guide your decision.

Peter D’s

We’ll start things off with a bang. Peter D’s is well-known as the best brunch spot in Murfreesboro. This place has 4 stars on Yelp, and once you read the reviews, you’ll know why. The menu is down to earth, and the service is top-notch. You can tell that the managers and waiters at Peter D’s take great pride in their level of service. We know this is a brunch blog, but don’t hesitate to go to Peter D’s for lunch or dinner, too. We’ve heard they have the best reuben in Murfreesboro.

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

If you’re looking for a fast, affordable brunch, look no further than Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. The atmosphere is fun and casual, and the staff is super friendly. According to most Yelp reviews, it’s hard not to have a good time at Fuzzy’s. The menu is a little different than you average Tex-Mex menu, too. The food is a little more authentic than it is at your typical Murfreesboro taco joint. Try this place out next time you and your crew need top-tier tacos.

Sylvan Park – Murfreesboro

The best thing about Sylvan Park is that you never have to wait long for a table. That’s not a knock on their food, it’s just a fact. You can get in, get your brunch, and get out in under an hour if you’re in rush. Although, you should never be in a rush during brunching hours.

Sylvan Park Yelp reviewers recommend the gigantic pancakes, the chicken fried steak, and that you finish things off with one of their homemade pies.
