In this week’s blog, we’re talking about the restaurants with the best burgers near your MTSU apartments. For a college town, Murfreesboro has some surprisingly good restaurants, and all the places on this list get high marks for service, freshness and above all else, taste.
There’s something about burgers that make them the perfect meal after a long day of class or work. Maybe it’s the fact that, as kids, we always used to beg our parents to take us to fast food joints for a burger. Now that we’re adults with our own money, we can’t help but opt for a burger when we have the chance.
Check out the list below, and be sure to share this blog with any friends who might be interested in grabbing a burger at one of these fine establishments near University Ridge.
Don’t leave Jack Brown’s without first tasting the Trabue Burger. This beast of a burger comes topped with fried eggs, applewood bacon and cheddar cheese. If you’re dining with a meat lover, be sure to point out the Piggyback Burger, which comes with jalapenos, cheddar cheese and a hot dog on top of a juicy burger.
It’s going to be hard to do this, but try to save some room for dessert. You don’t want to be too full when it comes time to order the fried Oreos. That’s right, we said fried Oreos. Don’t judge them before you try them, just remember to thank us for the recommendation afterward!
You caught us, Smashburger is a chain restaurant. However, we promise it’s the only chain restaurant on this list, and it only made the list in the first place because it’s so darn good. THe fries have that secret Smash flavor and the burgers are entirely customizable. Plus, they give students 10% off every order when you show them your student ID!
Next on the list we have Buster’s Place—a classic burger joint that does things right. You’ll find affordable menu prices, friendly waiters and waitresses and a mouth-watering burgers. The only place in town with a cheaper burger than Buster’s is McDonald’s, but Buster’s blows the fast-food chain away in terms of quality. We realize that isn’t saying much, but trust us when we say that Buster’s Place has the best burgers in town at this price point.
The hallmark of Fat Mo’s is their generous portion size. Their standard burger and fries basket is plenty of food, but you can also upgrade to a “deluxe” burger if you’re training for an eating contest or something. Their largest burger is the Super Deluxe Fat Mo Burger— a 27 oz. beast of a burger. It comes with 3 patties, 4 different condiments, grilled onions, bacon, jalapenos and mushrooms. THe best part of Fat Mo’s, however, is the superior service. The staff truly cares about making you a fantastic burger.
Like all good burger places, Jefferson’s has some of the best french fries in town. One Yelp reviewer actually claims they’re the best french fries anywhere, but we can’t backup that claim. The appetizers are awesome too, so good luck deciding between the mozzarella sticks and the fried pickles.
As always, we’d like to take this time to thank our residents for reading the most recent edition of the University Ridge blog. There’s nothing we like more than a good burger, and we’re thankful that we live in a town with so many good burger restaurants.
