Welcome to another informative blog post from University Ridge MTSU apartments. We’re always on the lookout for new ways to help our residents get the most out of their time in Murfreesboro, which is why this week’s blog is about the top restaurants in the area.
Murfreesboro is a small, close-knit community, so we decided to rely on real people’s reviews to rank these restaurants. Below, you’ll find real quotes from real Yelp reviewers. Hopefully, the quotes will help you decide which restaurant to choose for your next meal away from University Ridge.
Of course, the financially responsible thing to do would be to cook at home, but where’s the fun in that? Let yourself live a little and try one of the restaurants below.
“I always just ask them to make it the way they would if they were making it for themselves. That brings on a fantastic mix and proportions of toppings that is just– well, the way they’d eat it. They’re Greek, so they know what they’re doing.”
This person knows how to order at family owned restaurants. The owners of Opah Greek Grill have been eating their food for a long time, so of course they know how to make it taste just right.
“The prices are very affordable and the portions are substantial. I can get a gyro plate and have it last me for lunch, dinner and maybe as a snack later.”
This is music to your ears if you’re a college student. One meal turning into three meals? That’s every college kid’s dream. Opah knows their audience, and they know that large portions are in high demand.
“Take your blood pressure and cholesterol meds before eating here, and prepare to have some excellent southern cooking.”
For a classic southern restaurant, this is high praise. Jeff’s Family Restaurant won’t attract the gluten-free, low-carb crowd. That’s alright though, because it leaves plenty of open booths for the rest of to enjoy our chicken and waffles.
“Everything was perfect. Chicken was fried to perfect doneness while still being moist and crunchy.”
Everyone on Yelp raves about the fried chicken and the country fried steak. It sounds like Chef Jeff knows how to cook his meats, and apparently he’s always available to explain the menu to first-timers.
“Delicious variety of homemade sandwiches, beverages, spreads, ice cream, and popsicles made with REAL ingredients and a Mexican flair.”
As this review says, Fresko has a unique combination of a lot of different types of foods. It’s not your standard sandwich shop, nor is it your standard ice cream shop. It’s a little bit of both, with a few twists on some classic meals.
“It’s always fresh made and a good variety of flavors. Plus they have paletas. Lots and lots of paletas. The peanut butter, banana, and coffee ice cream are my favorite flavors.”
Yelp reviewers can’t get over the paletas at Fresko. In fact, almost every review mentions them at some point. Fresko has a ton of flavors, and they get way more interesting than just peanut butter and banana. Stop in and find out for yourself!
Thanks for taking a few moments out of your busy schedule to read our latest blog. We hope this list helps you decide on your next dining out destination in Murfreesboro.
